League of Legends Pre-Season 2023: Version 12.22 is Here!

The pre-season of League of Legends is here and players can now try out the changes in the jungle, new items, improved game coordination, and the new Techno-Chemical Dragon with Version 12.22. Riot Games has prepared several big changes for the pre-season of 2023, including significant changes to the jungle, game coordination, new items, and more.

New and Improved Jungle

The Jungle role has experienced the most changes from Riot in this pre-season. Traditional jungle items have been replaced by new pets that evolve throughout the game. Players can level up their new friends by giving them rewards earned through Champion and Monster kills and time.

• 1 Salamander: Defense option; grants shield and tenacity.
• 2 Fox: Mobility option; offers utility and movement speed.
• 3 Cat: Aggressive option; allows for slows and bonus damage.

Additionally, to make the Jungle less intimidating for players who are new to this role, visual indicators have been added to show how far camps can be pushed before losing interest in you. Champions also now receive jungle path recommendations for their first open camp based on data collected from jungles around the world with their mastery champions.

New Items and Changes

The Chem-Tech Dragon returns with a new design and theme. Killing the Techno-Chemical Dragon now grants players more stamina and more healing and shielding. The Chemtech Soul grants bonus damage and damage reduction to players when their health is below a certain value. In this new version, the Chemtech Rift contains Zaun chemicals that mutate jungle plants in various ways:

1. Exploding Pineapples: These plants now start twice as far away.
2. Honeyfruit: No longer slows when eaten. Additionally, they also grant a small extra shield.
3. Stalker’s Blade: This plant now grants movement speed on vision, reveals an additional circular area around the plant, and reduces the health of uncovered compartments.

Improved Game Coordination

Riot has added several tools to the communication system in the game to help players coordinate better on the map. More alarm types can now be used, and Summoners have a target voting system.
